George MacDonaldC S Lewis and the Inklings"Inklings" Resources on the WWW.The Inklings were a prominent group of writers and intellectuals who met together regularly in a back room at the Eagle and Child (affectionately known as "the bird and baby") public house in Giles Street, Oxford during the 1930's and 40's. Their most prominent members were C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Charles Williams although many other literary figures of the period were also associated with them. For the sake of completeness I have also included writers who significantly influenced them as well as those who were members of the group.
